Greek Art

Greek culture used many stories featuring heroes, monsters and mythological gods that helped community members understand how to behave so society could be the best it could be. These stories were told by travelling poets who went from village to village binding the culture together in the same way T.V. and movies do today.

Again, the human figure is the focus of this unit. This time, in addition to proportions, dynamic movement is added with shading and surroundings to give the figure a setting for a dramatic story.
