IMPORTANT SCIENCE FAIR DATES:

ALL WORK IS TO BE TYPED AND SAVED ON THE COMPUTER AND 2 DISCS
(JUST IN CASE ONE OF THEM DOESN’T WORK!)
Please type all work with the same type style, font, NON bold, and spacing so that it looks very professional.

9/7: (Tues) Science Fair project introduction.
9/9: (Thurs) Science fair video.
9/10: (Fri)
10 project ideas due
(make sure there are 10!!)
9/13: (Mon) hand back ideas/5 more ideas due
9/15: (Wed) 5 MORE project ideas due (make sure there are 5!!)
9/16: (Thurs) finalize project idea
9/17: (Fri)Parent signature form returned with final project proposal
9/20: (Mon) 4 web sites/ 20 note cards due on research already done on this type of project.
9/22: (Wed) must have 4 MLA bibliographies (based on your 20 cards)(If using computer must have complete web site address and documentation) FOLLOW MLA FORMAT
9/27: (Mon) 4 web sites/ 20 MORE note cards due on research already done on this type of project.
9/29: (Wed) must NOW have 8 MLA bibliographies (based on your 40 cards). Type the bibliography. FOLLOW MLA FORMAT
10/4: (Mon) 2 more sources due. (These can be interviews). Bring in FINAL typed, alphabetized
, PERFECT MLA format, bibliography.
10/8:(Fri)Research paper “rough draft” due. Should utilize the information from those cards! Attach PERFECT bibliography.
10/13:(Wed) “Statement of Problem”, Hypothesis, Purpose: all due.
Typed and on separate pages
10/20:(Wed) Variables & Controls due: typed
MONDAY: 10/25: (7am-7:25 am) Final research paper due:
TYPED min 5 pgs + PERFECT bibliography

(double spaced, 12-14 point, basic NON BOLD font, upper and lower case type, 1 inch margins)

10/27:(Wed) Materials list, Experiment Procedure:numbered, step by step (recipe form!) Typed and on separate pages. Let the experiments begin!! Phase #1. (results due 11/8)
11/8:
(DUE DATE PUSHED BACK) Summary of experimentation #1 due
(results thus far)
11/29: (DUE DATE PUSHED BACK)Summary of experimentation phase#2 due
(results thus far)

12/6:(DUE DATE PUSHED BACK) Lab experimentation final results due of trials 1&2 Typed. Include data. Include computer graphs showing results.
12/8: Conclusions and Recommendations due . TYPED

Wed: 12/15: (7am-7:25 am)FINAL PROJECT NOTEBOOKS DUE.
These are to include accurate Table of Contents, CORRECTLY numbered pages, experimentation/result graphs, appendix (which is all the original data sheets and recordings from your experimentation- the messy stuff!!) and all of the above submitted work.
1/5: BACKBOARDS DUE

DEADLINES ARE NOT OPTIONAL!!!

ALL DEADLINES MUST BE MET! LATE WORK WILL RECEIVE 50% LOSS OF POINTS FOR 1 DAY LATE. 75% LOSS OF POINTS FOR 2 DAYS. THESE DEADLINES ARE DUE TO OUR SCHOOL SITE JUDGING TAKING PLACE ON JAN 21 and the Jan. eighth grade trip to Washington DC.
